The Smith/Johnson Farmstead
This is the farmstead of another family that settled in Pleasant Valley in the mid-18th century and was a neighbor of the Phillips family. The Smith family lived in Burlington in the 17th century and then relocated north of Trenton. The John Smith family settled this farm in the mid-18th century. The site consists of the two-story frame house and the small, three-bay, stone Pennsylvania German type, basement or bank barn (with a later frame stable) that may date from the mid-18th century. During the period interpreted by Howell Farm, this farm was the home of the Joseph Johnson family. |
