Phillips/Holcomb House Site

This site is the location, just beyond the Pleasant Valley Public School, of a house associated first with the Phillips family and later the Holcomb family. This house no longer exists

The home, that housed a member of the John Phillips family, was probably built in the late-18th century and remained in the family until the 1850s when it was purchased by a member of the Holcomb family. It appears on the 1849 map as owned by J. Holcomb and on the 1860 map as owned by his heirs. By 1875 it no longer appears on maps.
