Phillips/Holcomb/Ely Farmstead

Phillips/Holcomb/Ely house todayThe house sits near the site of the original John Phillip's house.

John Phillips probably built the original stone wing of this house in the mid-18th century to replace an earlier, possibly temporary structure. This house remained in the Phillips family until about the 1850s.

On the 1849 map the house is shown as owned by J. Holcomb and on the 1860 map by his heirs. The 1875 map indicates ownership by the heirs of J. Ely and in 1903 it is shown as owned by a J. Ely.
