There are several areas of the Farm where fields are planted with crops on a rotating basis.  On the self-guided tour, location #19 is the South Crop Fields.  This 18-acre area was probably plowed as one or two fields, rather than as it is now plowed: six, 3-acre fields.  Our layout makes it easy for visitors to see the crops which make up the rotation commonly used in the area:  Corn, oats, wheat, clover hay and timothy hay.  Due to present-day conditions and needs, we often plant spelts or rye in place of oats.
