Every year a harvest of ice is taken off the pond just below the farmhouse.  The annual harvest provides up to 25 tons of ice that is used for Farm programs and to cool drinks in the farm house ice box.

Historically, ice has been harvested on this location since the mid-19th century.

For more information follow these links to the annual Ice Harvest Program, information about the Ice House, and an article about the history and methods of ice harvesting.  (Click the "Back" button of your browser to return to this page after viewing each one.)
