Horse Barn in 1900

The Horse Barn about 1900, the period interpreted by Howell Farm. The cupola and the large hay door and loading track in the south wall peak have been added.

Horse Barn in late 1920s

The Horse Barn in the late 1920s, the barn has been expanded by the Cromwell family to accomodate a larger herd of dairy cows.

Horse Barn in 1950s

The Horse Barn in the late 1950s, the barn was further expanded by the Cromwell family in the 1940s to accomodate more dairy cows. The outline shows the location of a cement block milk house built in the 1950s when the barn housed dairy goats. The south door in the west wall has been moved to provide access to the milk house.

Horse Barn in 2001

The Horse Barn in 2001 just before restoration began. The milk house was removed in the 1980s and the doors on the west wall were covered over.
