Evening Of Owls |
2013 Date: March 15 |
Howell Farm will host “An Evening of Owls,” an educational presentation about some of New Jersey’s most important birds-of-prey. This program, part of Howell Farm’s “Naturally Friends” Series, will be presented by Mercer County Naturalist Jenn Rogers and Wildlife Center Director Diane Nickerson. This family-oriented program will introduce visitors to one of farmers’ best friends through a talk, children’s activities, and an encounter with live owls. The presentation will be held on Friday, March 15, from 7:30 – 9:30 p.m. inside the farm’s heated 19th century barn. During part of the program, youngsters can participate in a “kids-only” segment where they will explore owl pellets and learn to sing like a screech owl. At the close of the evening, children and adults will come together for a demonstration featuring live owls from theMercer County Wildlife Center. Howell Farm is a facility of the Mercer County Park Commission. Parking and admission are free, but a $3 donation is suggested for Friday evening programs.
